At one point this movie was my all-time favorite movie. Then I decided it's not funny enough to be my favorite. It's still an amazing story. The book is even more amazing.

Everytime I see this movie I still smile. It's a classic from my childhood that can never be replaced. I've always had a secret wish that Falkor would fly around my town scaring all the bullies that have been in my life. =)

I love this movie. It reminds me of what being a kid is all about. Atreyu was my first crush, and I find that years later, I still lust after him. I still cry when Artax dies, and when the Rockbiter waits to die. I just plain love this movie.

I love this movie to this day. I remember seeing it as a child several times and I always wondered what the new name was I could never understand what he was saying. I have waited 23 years for "Moonchild" what a let down. I guess I was expecting something more exotic, not some hippie name. But oh well.

Just my predecesors here, I too love this movie. All the places Atreyu visited like the Crystal Towers are places I wish truly existed. This is also the movie that sparked my imagination, and taught me that dreams can come true.

I had no idea I would stumble upon the script to this movie! It was my all-time favorite! I can quote nearly every line from the movie. As I was reading the script, I could hear the actors' voices saying the lines. Yeah, I was that obsessed. Then I remembered I had no idea what he shouted at the end. I feel relieved now that more than 20 years later, I learned he said "Moonchild." How strange. I read the book ages ago and it was a fun read but I don't remember much.

First movie I saw at the cinemas as part of a school excursion and to this day, even after 20 years I can sit down and enjoy it. Like Cheyenne, I too wasn't able to understand what Bastian was screaming out the window for a new name. Moonchild was a bit of a disappointment to find out after 20 years! Movie has opened up my mind and imagination to a world I can always escape to.

I loved the NeverEnding Story when I was younger. When I was pregnant with my 3 year old we heard someone say the name "Sebastian" and we thought that was a not extremely common name, so that's what we named him. My mom immediately thought we got it from "the NeverEnding Story" I told her his name was "Bastian" without the "Se" on the front of it... but ironically enough "Bastian" is what we now call him... and guess what one of his favorite movies is? He told his dad one day "See he's Bastian... like I'm Bastian... that's funny". And he's right I think it is funny to see Bastian watching Bastian. I think if I ever have another son... I might name him Atreyu.

Moonchild, moonchild really?! that's terrible! I've always wondered, did they do that on purpose? Did they say, "hey kid, when it's time to yell out her name, you got to do it so NO ONE will understand what you are saying"" make sure that "Moonchild" sounds NOTHING like moonchild." just wondering.

Explaning why this movie is good is stpid. The reasons are so clear. If someone would twist my arm and force me to say what's wrong with it, I'll have to say that the book is so much better. I think they did the best with what cinema can do with this book, but still. If someone would twist my arm and force me to say a bad thing about the book, I think I'll have to loose the arm.

I actually looked up this script because I got serious MANDELA EFFECT vibes after watching the movie just now. This has always been one of my favorites, so I’ve seen it a million times. I remember when Bastian was confronted by the bullies (trash can scene), he said “Oh no, not again!? Oh no, not again!!” But in watching it on YouTube just now, at the 6:36 mark, he says it only once!! So yeah…that’s why I’m here. I had to read the script…which, indeed, has Bastian saying it TWICE. What gives?? P/S- Everyone talking about “Moonchild”…Yes, we were ripped off. I never could make out what he said, but I totally thought he gave her his mother’s name. Guess not. Dang. Moonchild. Hmpfff!
